Hi There! I’m Shannon!! I am a full-time Cosmetic Chemist (11+ years in the field!), former Cross Fitter, collector of swishies (workout pants), lover of Disney movies, home chef, connoisseur of natural skincare, advocate for my own health and fierce mama to two sweet, little boys. Lucky for them, I am a kid at heart — often breaking out into random song :) After a particularly rough day, you can find me baking in the kitchen (probably while watching a Disney movie or Rom-Com: my favorite is The Holiday).  Does it get much better than feel-good movies and baked goods?!

I wasn’t always obsessed with health and wellness.  However, that all changed one day after a very frustrating appointment with a GI doctor who told me nothing was wrong with me and, it sounded like I “just had IBS”.  Listen – I felt AWFUL -- I had stomachaches for as long as I could remember but, the reasons I was meeting with him were for: my severe eczema that came out of nowhere and covered my hands and wrists, the fact that I had gained 15 pounds in a few months (heaviest I had ever been in my life and felt SO uncomfortable all the time) and that I felt bloated pretty much all day every day no matter what I ate.  He told me there was really nothing he could do for me except prescribe me a pill for inflammation.  I was so discouraged with this diagnosis and being told that there was no real way to fix it, that I started to research bloating and IBS.  I am a scientist, after all!

It took MAJOR changes to how I was eating in order to feel great again.  Even though this was difficult at first, it showed me how truly powerful food was at healing the body. In doing so, I had a yearning to learn even more about how food could be used to heal and how I could help others that felt the same way I did. I became a Certified Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner in 2017 so that I could have a deeper understanding of how to heal the body and, ultimately, get rid of my bloating and eczema.

I have been gluten-free since 2013 and have been on many different protocols for Candida overgrowth, leaky gut, malabsorption of nutrients, heavy metal toxicity, as well as adjusting my diet for gluten and dairy sensitivities. I understand what it feels like to be totally overwhelmed with needing to change your lifestyle and eating habits — and, I also know — now on the other side of healing — that it is so worth it!

I know what it feels like to be frustrated with so much information and not know where to begin. You don’t need to be – I can help you!  I honestly wish there was someone that could have helped me years ago when I was feeling my worst. Someone to hold my hand and give me the steps so I could focus on healing instead of researching.
